• Estrella Roja was founded in 1945 by a group of Poblano entrepreneurs who were members in a societal group.
• Began offering ground transportation services between Puebla City and Mexico City running 20 buses through the old federal road.
• In 1952 Estrella Roja was established given the official name of Autobuses Mexico Puebla Estrella Roja, S.A. de C.V. By that time the company consisted of 43 buses.
• In 1957 the company constructed its own bus terminal, in addition to offices and bus lot, consolidating all of their services in the city of Puebla having gained the trust of the Poblanos.
• Offered businesses and the general public mail and package delivery service between Mexico City and Puebla and continues to expand in the present day.

Consolidation (1962-1980)

• In 1962 the highway from Mexico City to Puebla was inaugurated and Estrella Roja provided a fleet of buses for the event and in 1963 was now equipped with 50 buses.
• The company gradually continued to grow and constructed a new terminal in Mexico City.
• By 1976 the company was equipped with 191 buses.
• In 1977 a direct route was established between Mexico and Puebla and to this day Estrella Roja continues to offer direct routes as well as routes with frequent stops along the toll highway or the non-toll highway.
• In 1979 the bus terminal TAPO (Central de autobuses de Oriente) in Mexico City was inaugurated. The services of Estrella Roja now competed with a very good level in a growing market.

Growth 1985 to the present
• In 1985 Estrella Roja established a completely novelty form of ground transportation between Puebla and the Mexico City international airport. Due to good service and the growing necessity of ground transportation this route became a preferred option for the airline traveler.
• The Puebla bus terminal (CAPU) was inaugurated in 1988; as a result, the opportunity to become a more competitive company came about.
• In 1991, due to the deregulation of federal bus transportation, Estrella Roja began its first class service and in 1992 its luxury service. These two new types of services opened new horizons for the company.
