Trade Policy

Valid since August 16, 2010

In order to offer a better service to our customers we ask that you read the following information:

Discounts (Apply to Mexican citizens only.)

INAPAM (Previously INSEN):

A 50% discount with an INAPAM official identification is applied at the ticket counter.
Present official INAPAM identification when boarding.
Discount applies to scheduled or additional departures, NOT including Airport service.
In case of phone, internet, or third party purchases present your valid identification at the ticket counter or when boarding.

CHILDREN:

50% discount to children between 4 and 12 years old.
Children under 4 years of age do not pay, however they are not entitled to a seat and must be seated with an accompanied adult.
Minors may travel without an adult, however the parent(s), guardian or legal custodian must sign a waiver freeing the company from any responsibility of the minor.
For safety measures it is suggested that minors not use seats marked 1 thru 4.

STUDENTS:

50% discount with valid student SEP identification only offered during official SEP vacation periods.
Discount applies to scheduled or additional departures, NOT including Airport, Tourism/Entertainment and Executive services.
Present official SEP (Mexican issued) student identification when boarding.
In case of phone, internet, or third party purchases present your valid identification at the ticket counter or when boarding.
Discount is NOT applicable for foreign student identifications.
Discount does not apply to open return or round trip tickets.

TEACHERS:

25% discount with valid teacher SEP identification only offered during official SEP vacation periods.
Discount applies to scheduled or additional departures, NOT including Airport, Tourist, and Executive services.
Present official SEP (Mexican issued) teacher identification when boarding.
In case of phone, internet, or third party purchases present your valid identification at the ticket counter or when boarding.
Discount does not apply to open return or round trip tickets.

For INSEN, teacher, or student discounts corresponding identification must be presented upon boarding or the passenger will be unable to board.

RESERVATIONS:

Reservations apply for direct routes only.
Passenger must present their reservation number 30 minutes prior to departure time.
For tourist packages, reservations can only be made through authorized travel agencies (defined by the Tourism Business office).

CANCELLATIONS:

Cancellations are permitted with tickets purchased in cash or credit/debit cards NOT including American Express. Cancellations are NOT permitted for tickets purchased through the internet or tickets obtained from the SOCIO INTIMO program. Cancellations do NOT apply for open return tickets, tickets ordered from SEDENA, coupons from airlines or travel agencies, third parties, and telephone purchases.

REASONS FOR TICKET CANCELLATIONS:

Ticket counter personnel MUST cancel your ticket for any of the following reasons:

By request of the passenger any time prior to departure time.
When passenger refuses to allow security personnel to check them or their luggage.
When passenger is carrying a weapon.
When passenger wishes to cancel for a delayed departure.
For a cancelled departure initiated by Estrella Roja.

A passenger is intoxicated.
The passenger does not agree to send his/her luggage in a later departure due to insufficient cargo space in his/her departure time.
When a passenger wishes to transport dangerous materials and/or substances.
When a passenger refuses to pay for the excess weight of his/her luggage. (Applicable in certain terminals)

For travel agencies (AGV) and Aeroméxico (AMX) cancellations are not permitted only departure time changes.

For tourism packages cancellations are not permitted.

All cancellations are subject to the authorization of a supervisor.

PAYMENT WITH FOREGIN CURRENCY

Payment in US Dollars is accepted ONLY in the Mexico City Airport ticket counters at Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 of Estrella Roja. No other type of foregin currency is accepted.

US dollars and any other type of foreign currency are NOT accepted outside of the Mexico City Airport terminals.

TRANSFERRING BUS TICKETS

This service allows the passenger to change his/her purchased ticket for a different departure time.

In case there is a difference in price of new ticket the passenger is responsible for paying the difference. When the difference is in favor of the passenger the amount will be reimbursed in cash except when purchase was made with a debit/credit card.
No cancellations permitted with a transferred ticket.
The passenger is permitted to make any necessary changes within the same day of the departure date.

DUPLICATE CREDIT CARD CHARGE

In the case of a duplicate credit or debit card charge you must present your credit or debit card statement to your bank directly. Estrella Roja is unable to reimburse any cash even upon presenting your bank statement to an Estrella Roja representative.

PASSENGERS WHO DO NOT BOARD THEIR SCHEDULED BUS

This refers to passengers who do not board their scheduled bus at its ticketed departure time.

1. The passenger may board at the next departure time, assuming seating availability, however they must exchange their ticket at the ticket counter.
2. After one hour from the original departure time the passenger may, with authorization from the supervisor, purchase an additional ticket at 50% off.
3.These policies also apply to ticket purchases made via telephone, internet and through third parties.

LOST TICKET

The lost ticket must be reported at the ticket counter in order to verify pertinent information. The passenger must pay an additional ticket at 50% off in order to cover the traveler’s insurance. If the claim of the lost ticket has been proven false the passenger must pay the complete cost of the ticket.

SECURITY GUIDELINES

1. Passengers traveling with pets must check them in with their baggage. A cage will be provided by Estrella Roja.
2. It is strictly forbidden to travel with fire arms, sharp objects, or any dangerous materials such as, paints, gas, acids, etc. that may place anyone in danger.
3. Any passenger believed to be under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol will NOT be able to board at their departure time. Tickets will be automatically reimbursed.
4. Passengers in an aggressive state will NOT be able to board at their departure time. Tickets will be automatically reimbursed.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Estrella Roja, AUTOBUSES MEXICO PUEBLA ESTRELLA ROJA, S.A. DE C.V., would like to inform the online users of our personal data protection policy. The purpose of these terms and conditions is to allow the online user to decide willingly to provide their personal information required by the service provider.

The information pertaining to the online user is placed in an automated file which AUTOBUSES MEXICO PUEBLA ESTRELLA ROJA will be responsible for and the users will be sent information regarding promotions and discounts.
All required data must be completed in order for the online user to be registered as well as receive the solicited services. Otherwise the services may not be provided by AUTOBUSES MEXICO PUEBLA ESTRELLA ROJA.
All required data must be truthfully entered in a precise, complete, and current manner. The online user will be responsible for the damages caused by not registering truthfully. If the user is a minor parent(s), guardian, or legal custodian consent will be required before any personal data is entered.
AUTOBUSES MEXICO PUEBLA ESTRELLA ROJA has adopted the necessary security measures to protect personal data legally required in accordance with the law. These necessary measures guarantee the confidentiality of the personal data unless the data is required by authorities in accordance with the law. However, the user must be aware that the security measures on the internet are not infallible.
Estrella Roja is committed to maintaining confidentiality of the contents in the automated files in accordance with the law.
The online user or their legal representative may at any time access, rectify, cancel and or oppose the handling of their personal data by submitting a written statement including photo identification to AUTOBUSES MEXICO PUEBLA ESTRELLA ROJA via email to: mexico@vicomstudio.com.
AUTOBUSES MEXICO PUEBLA ESTRELLA ROJA uses “cookies” included throughout the web pages and will be stored in the hard disk of the online user. The “cookies” are not able to read any personal data stored on the hard disk or “cookies” from any additional providers. However, the online user can block the downloading of the “cookies” using the corresponding option in the internet explorer.
AUTOBUSES MEXICO PUEBLA ESTRELLA ROJA uses “cookies” with the objective of recognizing other users who may have registered and offer a personalized and individualized service to meet the needs of our customers.
